Heaven: #1-The reunions

Love, love, love visiting places I lived as a child.  Holmes County, Ohio has to be in my top favorite places.  We just returned from 8 days there and it really was like heaven.

The reason we went and stayed 8 days was because it was my high school class 50th reunion one weekend and a get together with my nursing school classmates the next Thursday. I don't know how it could be 50 years as I am pretty sure I am not 50 years old yet. :P Both events were extremely enjoyable.

The Reunions
Hiland High School-We had 34 graduating seniors in our class. Sadly 6 classmates have passed away, one, who we will never forget, following our sophomore year.

Friday night the Hiland High School class of 1964 got together for a picnic and bonfire.  Although faces looked familiar I was very appreciative of the name tags!  It was fun sharing memories around the bonfire. Memories continued to come even after the celebration was over.

Saturday was an unforgettable day.  We gathered at the school for a tour with the principal. Nothing stays the same, but, it's all good.  We found the state runner up trophy from 1962.  Talk about memories. :) We also took a memorable tour bus ride through the county.  You'd be surprised what tiny roads that bus could go down.  Bob was impressed when they started showing where everyone lived/lives.

Beginning again!

It HAS been awhile, hasn't it!  Time flies while I live my life.  I will have some updates soon.  check out my bird spot blog.  I just reactivated it. Be back sooner. :)

Oh, my! I didn't even realize that I already had a blog.  As you can see much time has passed since I posted here last.  I am still knitting baby sweaters and jackets and doing a little sewing.  I now have 2 new granddaughters, 2 great grandsons, and a great granddaughter.  Of course, I already had a grandson and granddaughter.  I also have a smattering of great nieces and nephews.  I love my growing family and imagine I will include my escapades with them in my blog.  These are my Great Grandchildren: Hunter, Cobin and Hadleigh.

These are pictures of my granddaughters Alexandra and Mae.  They are bigger now.  I will have to find some newer pictures.
I am now retired and have found great enjoyment in taking pictures of birds.  In the beginning I took pictures mostly from my windows and deck.  Now I am going to the parks with my dog and camera.  the first time I tried to take a picture of a bluebird it came out all blurry and I cried.  My wonderful husband promised me I would have more chances to get their pictures and I have had great fun taking them.  I need to learn more about taking pictures in the manual mode, but have to get up my nerve ;)

Most of my hiking is done with family, dog and camera.  Maybe this year I will do more. Well, that's all for now.  Oh, I finally have gotten into the de-junking! hahahaha

Well so much for de-junking my house!!! But then the year isn't over yet is it. I have completed two infant jackets since I posted last. And we have a new Dog that I am trying to train to get a good citizen certificate or something like that. She is 1 yr old and thinks that some of the activities are stupid! But, she aims to please.

Puttering around

My last company left today and I'm off work until Monday. So I decided to work on my knitting project which I started yesterday. However, I found myself puttering around and "undecorating" the house, packing up the ornaments and taking down the tree, putting it out on the deck for disposal on a nicer day. (It was drizzling and sleeting this morning, however, the sun came out this afternoon.) BUT, by the time the sun came out I was tired! Puttering takes alot of energy. I have had an awsome holiday, relaxing and fun. Lots of family, friends. I think I will play some snood, get supper and then work on my knitting in front of the TV. I'll finish the "undecorating" tomorrow.

New Year's Day 2009

It is a sunny cold day today. The perfect start to the new year. This year I want to dejunk my house-perhaps clean out as if I am moving into a smaller house (without the moving!). I also want to do more crafts and hiking etc. :)
